FIVE-RUN NINTH INNING RALLY LIFTS EXPLORERS TO VICTORY

Sioux City, IA- The Sioux City Explorers continue to dominate, getting the come-from behind victory in walk-off fashion Friday night.  Explorers 11, RailCats 10 at Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Park.  

Sioux City first baseman John Nogowski launched a three-run home run to cap off a five-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning and give the Explorers a dramatic 11-10 walk-off victory over Gary SouthShore.

The RailCats had a 10-6 lead in the ninth with two outs before two errors led to five runs including Nogowski’s blast to give the Sioux City the win.

Nogowski finished 3-for-5 on the night with a pair of home runs and five RBI. Explorers SS Nate Samson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, while leadoff hitter Tony Campana collected two hits and plated a pair of runs. Sioux City reliever PJ Francescon (1-1) threw a scoreless ninth and struck out two to notch the victory.
