EXPLORERS FALL TO GOLDEYES IN SHORTENED CONTEST

The game between the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Sioux City Explorers was shortened to five innings due to rain but that proved to be plenty of time for the Winnipeg bats as they exploded for a 16-2 win.

Winnipeg put up eight runs in the first inning and then did the same again in the second to take a commanding lead. All nine Goldeyes scored in the game and seven of them scored twice. Eight of the Winnipeg batters recorded at least one hit in the game as well. RF David Rohm went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI and 1B Shawn Pleffner went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBI as well.

The Explorers had just three hits in the game and one of them was a solo home run from LF Jayce Ray.
