EXPLORERS WOES CONTINUE WITH LOSS TO GOLDEYES

Winnipeg plated four runs in the third inning to extend their lead to 5-0 and would go on to a big 9-2 victory over the Sioux City Explorers.

The Goldeyes had 11 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit games. Winnipeg LF Josh Romanski went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI while DH David Bergin had a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Goldeyes RF David Rohm, 3B Wes Darvill and 2B Mason Katz each chipped in with two hits in four plate appearances and scored a run.

Winnipeg starter Edwin Carl gave up two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings of work to collect his third consecutive victory. Carl allowed no walks and five hits while striking out 11 Sioux City batters. The righty is now 5-1 on the year.
