It was all Winnipeg in this contest as the Goldeyes jumped out to a 6-0 lead after an inning of play and cruised to a 12-0 victory over the Sioux City Explorers.
Winnipeg collected 15 hits as a team with five batters having multi-hit games. Goldeyes 2B Mason Katz led the way going 2-for-3 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBI. Winnipeg leadoff hitter Andrew Sohn added three hits in five at-bats, including a home run, and plated two runs while DH David Bergin launched a first inning grand slam. In total, the Goldeyes hit five home runs in the contest.
Winnipeg starting pitcher Kevin McGovern threw seven strong innings in earning his seventh victory of the season. McGovern gave up two walks and three hits to along with seven strikeouts. With the victory, the Goldeyes complete the three-game sweep of Sioux City.
