Wichita, KS-----One night after snapping Wichita's 11-game winning streak, the Explorers came up short here Tuesday, losing to the Wingnuts 8-2.  Wichita didn't waste any time as the Wingnuts scored three runs in the first inning off losing pitcher Alain Quijano.  With the bases loaded and one out, Mitch Einertson delivered a double to score three runs.  The Wingnut added three more runs in the fifth inning when Quijano walked the first two batters and John Rodriguez followed with a two-run single.  C.J. Ziegler drove in the third run with a single and Wichita had a 6-0 lead. 


The Explorers only runs came in the sixth with two out, Youske Inoguchi had an infield single and Wally Backman walked.  Kris Sanchez doubled down the left field line to score the only two runs for the Explorers.  Wichita closed out the scoring in the sixth when Rodriguez hit a two-run home run off relief pitcher Jon Plefka to make the final margin 8-2 Wichita.  Josh Lowee (3-0) pitched seven innings to get the win for the Wingnuts while Quijano (0-2) took the loss for the Explorers. 


Sioux City and Wichita will meet in the third game of the four-game series at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.  Game time will be 7:05.
