LINCOLN | Lincoln snapped a 4-all tie by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on the way to an 8-6 win over the Sioux City Explorers in an American Association exhibition baseball game Thursday night at Haymarket Park.

The eventual winning runs for the SaltDogs came against relief pitcher Dan Jurik, who yielded four earned runs and three hits while pitching the fifth and sixth innings.

Now 0-2 in exhibition games, Sioux City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Wally Backman, Jr., singled with two outs, Peter Barrows walked and Palmer Karr drilled an RBI single to right field.
Starting pitcher Jason Jarvis yielded four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Jarvis gave up three earned runs, three hits and one walk while striking out two in two innings.
