Explorers rally to down Redhawks and even series

Fargo, ND-----Sam Judah (pictured) had a two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning that gave the Explorers a 6-4 win over Fargo-Moorhead here Sunday afternoon.

The two-run double by Judah capped a five-run sixth inning for the X’s as they evened the series at a game apiece.

The Explorers started the sixth inning trailing 4-1 after taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning only to have Fargo-Moorhead take a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning on a three-run home run by Buddy Sosnoskie.

Andy Noga pitched five innings to pick up his second consecutive win while Chris Bodishbaugh struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to record his 11th save of the season.  However, it was the Explorers Jimmer Kennedy who pitched three scoreless innings in relief that held the Red Hawks in check.  Kennedy allowed only one hit while striking out two, but walked none.

Everyone batter in the Explorers lineup had at least one hit, except Anthony Kaskadden.  Leugim Barroso had a single in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games.

The Explorers and Fargo-Moorhead will meet in the third game of the series Monday at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo with game time 7:05pm.
