Sioux City, IA- The Sioux City Explorers were near perfect on both sides of the field Sunday night, getting the 15-1 victory and sweeping the AirHogs in their three game series. Sioux City came out swinging, plating a quick run in the bottom half of the first to take the early lead. The Explorers offense exploded in the second inning, racking up nine huge runs to extend their lead to a whopping 10-0 score. The first run of the inning scored on a bases loaded walk. On the next at-bat Derrick Robinson cranked a grand slam home run to clear the bases. They scored two more runs on RBI doubles by Nate Samson and Ino Patron, and added a couple runs off sacrifice-fly’s. Texas record their one and only run in the fifth. AirHogs third baseman Cody Morales scored the runner at third with a sacrifice fly. Sioux City went on to score their final five runs in the bottom if the eighth. Back-to-back RBI doubles by Jarek Cunningham (2 RBI) and Tommy Mendonca (1 RBI) knocked in three runs.
