SIOUX CITY, IOWA

Sioux City (45–48) closed out its regular‑season home schedule in emphatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, overwhelming Kane County (50–42) in a 15–1 victory.

Manager Steve Montgomery loved the atmosphere and the performance,  “We had some unbelievable crowds, glad we played so well in front of them.”

On the second pitch he saw, Jackson Van De Brake homered to right in his first game in the leadoff spot this season, giving Sioux City a 1–0 lead.

The barrage continued in the second. D’Shawn Knowles opened the inning with an opposite‑field home run, Zac Vooletich was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 3–0, and Braulio Vásquez followed with a two‑run single to stretch the lead to 5–0.

Sioux City broke the game open in the third with six runs on eight hits, including four consecutive run‑scoring hits and a towering three‑run home run from Austin Davis. After three innings, the Explorers led 11–0.

Kane County’s lone run came in the fourth on an RBI single from Sam Dexter, but Otano otherwise cruised. He delivered a quality start with seven innings of one‑run ball and six strikeouts, continuing a dominant stretch in which he has allowed just four earned runs across his last four starts.

The Explorers added on in the sixth when Knowles scored on a wild pitch and Vooletich lifted a sacrifice fly, pushing the lead to 13–1. In the eighth, Davis capped his five‑RBI performance with a two‑run double to left.
