EXPLORERS LET LEAD SLIP IN 6-2 LOSS
SIOUX CITY GOES 4-2 ON CRUCIAL ROAD SWING
By: Andrew Della Piana
WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – Sioux City (38–42) couldn’t hold its early lead on Sunday afternoon, falling 6–2 to Winnipeg (44–35) in the series finale.
Henry George launched a solo home run to left, giving Sioux City a quick 1–0 advantage in the opening inning.
Winnipeg threatened in the second, but Jiandido Tromp was tagged out at the plate on a sharp relay from left field, keeping the X’s in front. The Goldeyes then left the bases loaded in the third as Sioux City continued to navigate traffic.
The X’s added on in the fourth. Jackson Van De Brake lifted a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Alberto Osuna and extending the lead to 2–0.

Winnipeg began its push in the sixth. Max Murphy singled to right to score Tromp, trimming the deficit to 2–1.
The seventh inning proved decisive.
Ramon Bramasco walked and stole second, then scored on Noah Marcelo’s double to tie the game 2–2. On the first batter out of the bullpen, Keshawn Lynch tripled to right to bring home Marcelo, giving Winnipeg its first lead at 3–2. Raphael Pelletier followed with an RBI single to make it 4–2 as the game slipped away from Sioux City.
Winnipeg added insurance in the eighth. Ray‑Patrick Didder doubled home Murphy, and Adam Hall singled to right to score Didder, stretching the lead to 6–2.
