Hunter Poe joins Sioux City after spending the summer with the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League and completing his degree at McMurry University in 2026.
This past season with the War Hawks, he posted a 3.48 ERA with 77 strikeouts, building on a strong junior season in 2025, when he logged 96.2 innings with a 3.17 ERA. Across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he recorded 52 strikeouts in 63.1 innings over 25 appearances, establishing himself as one of the War Hawks’ most reliable arms.
A 2022 graduate of Midland High School, Poe earned two varsity letters under coach Jeremy Muller and competed for Pitchman Baseball under coach and former MLB pitcher Bobby Livingston.
Poe stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 225 pounds. He is the son of Jason and Jamie Poe. He has one sister, Kyndale. Poe enjoys hunting and fishing and majored in Sports Leadership and Management.
