Jarod Wright arrives in Sioux City with an extensive résumé that includes affiliated baseball, the Atlantic League, and a standout collegiate career. Most recently, Wright pitched for Southern Maryland in 2025, continuing a professional career that spans 120 appearances with an 8–11 record and a 4.57 ERA across stops with Myrtle Beach, South Bend, and Tennessee in the Chicago Cubs organization.

One of the defining moments of Wright’s professional career came on July 6, 2023, when he teamed with Michael Arias, Eduarniel Núñez, and Frankie Scalzo Jr. to throw a combined no-hitter for the South Bend Cubs. The performance marked the franchise’s first no-hitter in nearly two years and the 10th in club history.

Before his professional career, Wright continued his development at Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he became one of the most accomplished pitchers in program history. As a sophomore, he posted a 9–3 record with a 3.51 ERA, recording 64 strikeouts and three complete games over 81.2 innings to earn second-team All-Conference honors. He finished his two-year career as the program’s all-time leader with 162 innings pitched and 705 batters faced while ranking third in wins (14) and strikeouts (129). Wright also recorded six complete games during his time with the Rangers.

His success at Northwest Mississippi earned him a Division I opportunity at Southern Miss, becoming the second Division I signee from the Rangers’ MACCC runner-up squad and one of five players from that team to advance to four-year programs.

Prior to college, Wright starred at Arlington High School. As a senior, he went 6–1 with five saves, a 1.16 ERA, 67 strikeouts in 42 innings, and a 1.095 WHIP. He graduated in the top two percent of his senior class and was a member of the National Honor Society in English, mathematics, and science.

Baseball runs in Wright’s family, as his father, Skipper Wright, played baseball at Ole Miss from 1983–86 before spending time in the Atlanta Braves organization from 1986–91.
