RAILCATS EDGE EXPLORERS 5–3 IN WEDNESDAY MATINEE
OSUNA BELTS 17TH HOMER OF THE SEASON

GARY, IN – Sioux City (42-46) dropped a 5–3 decision to Gary SouthShore (37-51) on Wednesday afternoon.
Manager Steve Montgomery summed up the loss, “Didn’t execute offensively, didn’t get much with runners in scoring position.”
The RailCats jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first inning before the Explorers battled back to tie it in the third.
Alberto Osuna started the comeback with a solo homer in the second, becoming the 12th player in Explorers history to hit at least 17 home runs in a season. Braulio Vásquez then brought home Austin Davis with an infield single, and another run scored on a groundout to tie the game at 3–3.
Gary SouthShore regained the lead in the bottom of the third on a Kevin Watson Jr. home run.
Joe Suozzi added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, making it 5–3.
Sioux City mounted one final threat in the ninth, loading the bases with the tying run at second, but Zac Vooletich grounded out to end the game.
Sioux City finishes the three‑game series at Gary SouthShore on Thursday at 6:45 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 6:15 p.m. on KSCJ 94.9 FM and 1360 AM. -Sioux City stole three bases giving the team 252 for the season the second straight year they have taken at least 250.
