Bio

RHP Jeremy Goins joins the Explorers near the midseason mark for his first year of professional baseball. Goins previously pitched for the University of Tampa earlier in 2024 after spending three years there. He started his collegiate career at the College of Central Florida in 2019 before transferring to Pasco-Hernando State College for the 2021 season.

This season with the Tampa Spartans, Goins appeared in 11 games out of the bullpen, posting a 6.23 ERA over 17.1 innings. He started the season with 6.1 consecutive innings of scoreless ball before he was tagged for his first run against Seton Hall on March 4.

Goins transferred from Pasco-Hernando State College after starting seven games in 2022 for the Bobcats, posting a 2.35 ERA across 38.1 innings. That season, he had several starts including back-to-back starts of five innings with one run allowed March 5 and March 11.

His sophomore season was with the Bobcats in 2021. He started five games and pitched 26 innings in his first season with Pasco-Hernando State. Through that year, he struck out 27 batters and earned wins against ASA Miami and South Florida State CC while picking up six strikeouts on two separate occasions.

Prior to his transfer, Goins began his collegiate career with the College of Central Florida Patriots, pitching in 15 games in the 2019 season. Across his 15 games, he was a perfect 5-0, going 33.2 innings with 28 strikeouts.

The right-hander enrolled in the College of Central Florida after attending King High School and serving as the team captain in 2018. He is the son of Todd Goins and Sharmon Lenth and has an older brother, Jordyn.
